What does MBC cater, and at what size?
Weddings and rehearsal dinners. Corporate lunches, meetings and presentations. Cocktail receptions, fundraisers and holiday parties. Private dinners at home.
Sizes run from a dinner party of 10 up to a thousand guests, and to multi-day events. We also cater photo and film shoots.
What kinds of food does Chef Bernstein cook?
Chef Bernstein cooks from many different countries and nationalities, and is comfortable in all of them.
What is included beyond the food?
Professional service staff. Curated bar packages and specialty cocktails. Custom tablescapes, luxury rentals, floral design and event styling. Entertainment.
All of it is coordinated through our trusted network of partners, alongside our chefs, mixologists, bartenders and servers.
Who is the chef, and what has she done?
Chef Michelle “Michy” Bernstein was born and raised in Miami, of Jewish and Latin descent.
She won the James Beard Foundation Award in the “Best Chef: South” category in 2008. At the 25th anniversary of the South Beach Wine & Food Festival she was honoured with the Tribute Dinner, the first local chef to receive it.
She runs MBC with her husband and business partner, David Martinez.
Which restaurants is she known for?
Café La Trova on Calle Ocho. Sweet Liberty on Miami Beach. La Cañita. The Zebra Club at the Townhouse Hotel in South Beach.
Is she on television?
She hosts two Emmy Award-winning shows: Check, Please! South Florida on PBS, and SoFlo Taste on Channel 10. She also appears as a guest judge on Top Chef and Chopped.
Can we order for a holiday without booking an event?
Yes. MBC offers pickup and delivery for Passover, Mother’s Day and Thanksgiving. You can eat Chef Bernstein’s cooking at home with no event to host.
